Stephanie Dubois is a 35-year-old Canadian former tennis player. She was born in Laval, Quebec, on the 31st of October, 1986. Dubois stands at a height of 1.62m or 5 ft. 4-inch and played right-handed throughout her career.

Dubois began her professional career in the year 2004, with her first World Group Play-offs appearance against Switzerland during the Fed Cup in July.

Stephanie Dubois Career Highlights

2004 – 07
Dubois attained her first WTA quarterfinal in 2005 during the Challenge Bell held in Quebec City, only a few months after her debut. She got through to the 3rd round of the 2006 Rogers Cup (which became the most significant win ever in her career), defeating Kim Clijsters.

In 2007, she and Renata Voráová managed to reach the Challenge Bell final but were defeated in straight sets by their opponents, Christina Fusano and Raquel Kops-Jones.

2008 – 10
Dubois qualified for the main draw of both the French Open & the Australian Open in 2008. One of the first Quebec natives to qualify for the main draw of the French Open on the basis of their ranking. During the 1st round of Wimbledon in 2008, she had 3 match points against eighth seed Anna Chakvetadze but lost 6–8 in the final match. She defeated Maria Kirilenko (world No. 20 at the time) and advanced to the 3rd round of the Rogers Cup for the second time in 2008.

She was awarded the $75000 ITF Vancouver Open in 2009 by defeating Sania Mirza, the top seed, in three sets. In 2009, she won the US Open first round against Kristina Mladenovic, her first taste of a Grand Slam main-draw triumph, before being defeated in the 2nd round by Sorana Cîrstea.

2011 – 14
In 2011, Dubois advanced to the 2nd round of Wimbledon and subsequently lost to Andrea Petkovic (world No. 11 at the time) in three sets. Dubois reached the WTA quarterfinal for the second time in late July 2011 in the Citi Open in College Park, Washington. However, she was defeated by Tamira Paszek, with the game surviving for nearly four hours.

She got her first-round match win during the Australian Open in January 2012, defeating Elena Vesnina, and Angelique Kerber, the 30th seed, defeated her during the second round. Dubois participated in the Summer Olympics (2012) women’s doubles with Aleksandra Wozniak, but they were eliminated in the 1st round.

Stephanie Dubois Personal Life

After retirement, Dubois studied communication at Promédia in 2015. She also got married to British Oliver Sheath that same year in July. The couple’s daughter, Alicia, was born in April 2017. Dubois currently resides in London with her family.
