HOUSTON – This College football year has been crazy. From Conferences not playing to big upsets every weekend. But one of the biggest surprises for me has been watching this BYU football team dominate nearly every weekend. BYU’s contract with ESPN has certainly helped push the narrative this team is on the cusp of something great.

From the jump, Zach Wilson continued to impress. He was 25-35 and went off for 40 yards and 4 TDs. What’s really impressive about Wilson’s play is that BYU’s offensive targets aren’t exactly 5/4 star athletes. He is putting up ridiculous numbers with players that most likely will never play after College. Could you imagine Wilson on a team like USC or Texas? The BYU vs. Houston Cougars game was a competitive battle until the 4th quarter. At one point Houston even had the lead and looked as if they might pull this one out. However, in the 4th BYU put their foot on the accelerator to blow them out. Keep in mind this is only the 2nd game Houston has played. It is entirely possible that they aren’t a very competitive team. Notwithstanding BYU continues to put up impressive numbers.

The analytics company PFF, best known for its College football data provided a top 5 list of the best offenses. Interestingly enough BYU came in at #1. We will see how this changes over the next week but things are looking good.

2. Alabama – 93.9
3. Marshall – 88.8
4. Notre Dame – 88.2
5. Coastal Carolina – 85.7

Listen I am no BYU fan. I honestly thought they were going to get blown out and my -3.5 line would be covered. But as I watched Wilson play there were just so many times I thought this kid is special.

If this is what I can expect to see when watching BYU then call me a fan. This team is exciting and has a QB who is mobile and able to throw. This is an exciting year for BYU and I can’t wait to see what they do next.

Welp, it looks like #2 from the Houston Cougars didn’t get the Covid memo. In what is a dirty play a Houston Cougars player was caught on camera spitting on a BYU player. Check out the video below for the dirty play. BYU would end up winning the game 43-26 and move on to a 5-0 record. This is one of BYU’s best starts in recent memory and if they win out they might have a shot at a New Year’s 6 bid. That is unless the entire team gets Covid from being spit on…

BYU is perhaps the worst among most College sports tastemakers (mainly Sportsblogit). But damn do I respect there Cougar. As some of you may remember the BYU cougar made National news last year for his sick dance routine (video below). But Cosmo doubled down on his internet fame to perform the first dunk I have ever seen from the 3 point line. This is amazing. We will be updating with alternate angles and dunk speeds.

From the ranks of left field nothingness comes this little gem. Does BYU deserve a shot at the title if they beat out all the P5 teams? Quick answer, no because they most likely won’t even beat Utah who had a lackluster ending this past season.
