The men’s lacrosse team at Hart High School in Newhall, CA is a promising team looking to turn heads in Division 3 of the CIF Southern Section. With a big defense, quick face off, and intimidating shooters the Indians of Hart High School are looking better than last season where they went 13-7 that was ultimately halted in the second round of playoffs after taking a tough loss 15-3 to the Mission Viejo Diablos. Led by captains Ethan Jordan, Mike Granillo, and Tate Fuller the lacrosse team is looking forward to playing stifling defense, and a patient yet potent offense that is sure to confuse defenses and puzzle the goalie.

The Intimidating Size of the Defense

Led by captain Mike Granillo, and supported by Justin Chavez, Ashton Young, Peyton McClain, and Adrian Zamora the defense is looking forward to blending their size, strength, and speed to build a better defense than the team last year which allowed 7.45 goals per game according to Maxpreps. Goalie Beau Vought has been looking very promising in the cage for the year, saving shots all practice. Defensive midfielders like Nolan Byrd, Gavin Bos, and Talen d’Autremont have been looking stout and strong in aiding the defense.

The Patient Yet Potent Offense

Captains Ethan Jordan, Ethan Capalad, and Tate Fuller round out the offensive half of the field by running a unique offense that I will not give away. Supporting cast Peyton McClain, Ben Gomez, Blake Osoria, Zach Saldivar, and Wylie Thompson are looking to create the best opportunities for themselves by bringing a unique style and flow to the offense they are running. They move the ball well, play off ball well, and shoot well too. All in all the team does everything well and they excel at some other things too. Only the season will tell what this team can do.

Hart High Lacrosse Schedule

Hart starts off the season playing top Division 2 team Saugus, which CIF ranks in the top 10 in the Southern Section. Saugus will be a tough yet revealing matchup that Hart will play twice because they are in the same league, as well as West Ranch which is also rated as a top 20 team in the Southern Section. Hart is rated as a top 8 team in Division 3, which puts them in the top 50 of all teams in the Southern Section, yet this team is poised to reach greater heights. Valuable games within Division 3 include Thacher, Millikan, Dos Pueblos, and Canyon of Anaheim.

Hart High Lacrosse Coaches

Coach Daniel Kim played on the inaugural team at Hart High School and later went on to play lacrosse at Cal State Fullerton. He works as the Head Coach and is looking forward to coaching arguably the best team the program has ever seen.

Coach Ty Clanton played lacrosse for 8 years, and won the CIF Division 3 Championship in 2022 with the Vista Murrieta Broncos. Currently, he attends The Master’s University, a small private Christian university in Santa Clarita, where he studies Sports Management and chose to run cross country and track rather than attend another school and play lacrosse.

The Dallas Cowboys is given the moniker “America’s team,” and possess some of the most diehard fans of any sports franchise. This love of the team for some runs deep as fans sport tattoos that show their loyalty to the team. Here is a look at some of the good, bad, and ugly tattoos with certain sections for specific areas of the body.

Dallas Cowboys Hand Tattoos

This is a good hand tattoo for Dallas fans as the helmet is prominent and legible given such a small area to work with. With the logo, helmet, and name clear on the hand it is a good tattoo because of how clear it conveys the fandom while looking sleek on the hand.

It can be argued this is like the previous tattoo, but given no clear indication of the team, and how the lines may bleed together, this is a bad one. To a person with no football knowledge, this could pass as someone who just represents Texas and is proud to be from the lone-star state.

Sorry man, this tattoo is ugly. It does not look lined up properly, and the way it is displayed does not help the situation. Tattoos are supposed to be unique, and maybe symmetry does not make a great tattoo, but when spelling something, one would think it needs to be even, and less mundane.

Dallas Cowboys Sleeve tattoos

The blue pops on this tattoo well and makes this a good sleeve piece. The Super Bowl trophies are done elegantly, as well as the rings. Also, the word “Cowboys,” is symmetrical, and as mentioned that is a huge deal when getting words on your body for life.

This has too much going on with all the buildings and the effect he has going on around the whole piece. There’s no distinction between all that is around the city and the trophy, and it makes the piece bad and indistinguishable.

The flag with a Dallas logo is a cute play on the “America’s team,’ but not a fan. The dullness and monochrome flag contrasted with the bright Dallas star weighs the piece down and overall is ugly. With a concept that is unique, the product is average or below when the potential could have resulted in an awesome tattoo with loads of color.

Dallas Cowboys Forearm tattoo

The concept of bleeding blue, the muscles, and the star in the arm make for a good forearm tattoo. The ripping of the skin effect is a nice touch that enhances the overall piece. What is eye-catching about this is the blue muscles in this and the detail involved.

The bright star in this piece made it bad. The color is too bright and with no indication of team or Dallas, it looks like a random star. The hand grabbing the helmet is good, but not immediately recognizable. The biggest thing however is the blue star that is too bright to be the Dallas Cowboys.

The back story of this is Randy Gregory dedicated this piece to the Dallas Cowboys after it selected him in the 2015 NFL Draft. The piece is just ugly, no way to say it other than that. No clue as to what is obstructing the star, but it seems unnecessary. The star does not hint at the franchise, just a random star.

Other Dallas Cowboy Tattoos

An example that bears resemblance to the bad hand tattoo mentioned earlier. But where that piece failed to distinguish the Cowboys fandom, this piece did it quite well. Taking the state of Texas, making it blue, and making the star blue clearly shows Dallas Cowboys fan, not just random Texas pride.

The writing on the piece is not clear at all. While it can be deduced that it says Cowboys, it does not look like it is based on the left side of the writing. Personal preference, but head tattoos just do not seem like a wise choice. It can be argued there are nice headpieces, but this lack of clear writing makes this piece bad.

Dallas Cowboys Neck Tattoo

Just a bland tattoo overall. For an area as sensitive as the neck, and something that is going to be on a noticeable part of the body, it lacks a flair and uniqueness. Also, the fact that the tattoo bulges out because of his Adam’s apple, just adds to the ugliness of the piece.

Dallas Cowboys Leg Tattoo

Finally, our last Dallas Cowboys tattoo is this sick 80’s colored leg tattoo. This is actually our favorite tattoo in the series and applaud the artist’s incredible coloring!

Zheng Jie is a retired Chinese tennis player who trained under her husband, Zhang Yu. Zheng is one of the most accomplished Chinese tennis players. She was famous for quick reflexes, wide court coverage, and her trademark backhand shot.

Zheng Jie Career Stats

Zheng has found immense success in her career, having won four WTA singles titles and fifteen doubles titles. She has a winning record of 59.1% in singles, having won 384 games and lost in 266 matches. Additionally, her win record of 67.2% in doubles is better, winning in 437 games and losing in 213 games.

In May 2002, she played in two ITF tournaments staged in Shanghai and Tianjin. Fortunately, she brushed away her quarterfinal loss at Fukuoka by emerging victorious in both competitions, winning $25,000. In September 2002, she automatically qualified for a WTA tournament where Anna Kournikova eliminated her in the second round. As a result of her success, she finished the year as 183 seed.

In 2003, she qualified for Doha, but she was unfortunate not to win the tournament. However, she won a $50,000 tournament in August, overcoming major competition on her route to the final. She also had a successful WTA tournament before bowing out of the competition in the semi-finals. She rose from position 122 to 98 and made her debut as a top 100 player on October 6.

In 2004, she ranked in the top 100 and reached the quarterfinal in Hyderabad and Doha. In addition, she made history as the first female Chinese to play in the Grand Slam 4 round. Later on, she played in the Olympics in Athens but unfortunately lost to Ai Sugiyama in the first round. However, she would triumph Li Na to win a $25K tournament in Beijing.

Fast forward to 2005, she broke into the top 50 and defeated Dulko in the WTA final to win the tournament. After Li, she went down in history as the second female Chinese player to win the WTA tournament. She would then play at Rabat, where she finished as a runner-up, losing to Llagostera in the finals. She would reach the quarterfinal at Oeiras and New Haven, the third round once and the second round seven times.

2006 got off to a slow start for Zheng Jie after six consecutive eliminations in the first round. However, her success at the singles tournament was the onset of her newfound confidence, and she defeated first ranked Flavia Pennetta. She emerged victorious over her countrymate Li Na who pulled out of the WTA final. Zheng and Yan won six WTA doubles titles. She debuted as a top 10 ranked player on May 15 and the top 5 ranked player on July 10. Zheng continued making history as she became the first Chinese to win more than $1 million in prize money.

In 2007 she got a lot of injuries that led to her finishing as 163 seed. However, she still managed to win two WTA doubles titles alongside Yan. Zheng Jie saw her rankings improve the following year and won a WTA doubles title and finished third at the Olympics alongside Yan.

In 2009, her rankings improved from no 24 to no 20. She bagged two WTA doubles titles and unfortunately retired from all tournaments before the US Open, citing a left wrist injury in 2010. She triumphed on one WTA doubles tournament and one ITF Circuit in 2011. She won the WTA title at Auckland in 2012 when Penettta called off the final due to low back pains. Zheng also emerged triumphant in a doubles tournament in 2013. In 2014, she lost to Vandeweghe in the finals at Hertogensbosch before retiring from professional tennis in 2015 after the Wimbledon Championships.

Zheng Jie’s Personal Life

Zheng Jie is a daughter to Shu Kai Zheng and Zhi Bin Lei. After watching her elder sister play, she fell in love with tennis at the age of ten. As a child, people would overlook her due to her short stature. Even her parents advised her to concentrate more on her studies to guarantee herself job opportunities. However, her foreign coach noticed unique traits in her and convinced her parents she would succeed in tennis.

Zheng Jie was a product of the Sichuan Sports Academy, where she completed her training in June 2000. She became famous when she made history as the first Chinese to play in the semi-finals of a grand slam. She offered her earnings to help the victims of the 2008 earthquake in her home region of Sichuan. However, her support would not end there as she returned home to give children tennis balls and rackets.

Initially, Zheng trained under Jiang Hong Wei but later trained under Zhang Yu, her husband. Her friendship with Yu grew bigger after her serious ankle injury. She parted ways with the Chinese Tennis Association in 2009 and now is responsible for her finances.

Zheng Jie enjoyed phenomenal success in tennis, winning several trophies in her career. Her determination and serve placement outweighed her short stature, so she succeeded.

Born to parents, Dmitri Siniakova, a former Boxer and her tennis coach, and Hana Siniakova, an accountant, she began playing tennis at the young age of 5 years. When she was young, she was mentored by WTA legend Helena Sukova who co-founded the Kids and Junior Tennis Advancement Organization in the Czech Republic post-retirement.

This propelled her to the Top 100 rankings in doubles, peaking at No. 74 in the rankings chart. Finishing off the year, she won the 2014 Open de Limoges doubles alongside Renata Voráčová.

In July 2016, she reached her first WTA final at the Swedish Open but lost to Laura Siegemund. She also lost the final of the 2016 Japan Open.

But by 2017, she won her first WTA singles title at the Shenzhen Open, defeating Alison Riske in the final match.

Coincidently, she defeated her idol, Maria Sharapova, in the semi-final round of the 2018 Shenzhen Open, reaching the final. 

In the same year, she reached her first milestone when she was crowned World No. 1 in doubles alongside Barbora Krejčíková on October 22, 2018, which was cemented by two Grand Slam titles at the French Open and Wimbledon.
