“There’s more guys concerned with getting a pregame fit on Instagram than they are worrying about the win or loss of a basketball game.”
Quote is from the latest JJ Redick podcast with Hasan Minaj and Malcolm Gladwell around 27:55 mark.
On the topic of why some guys in the NBA never learn how to become better shooters, they ask JJ if anyone on the Pelicans has reached out to him for shooting help. JJ mentions how Nickeil Alexander-Walker has started to practice with him and replicate the same game preparation habits as him, as JJ did with Rashard Lewis when he was a young player in Orlando. Gladwell asks why more players don’t do this, and JJ says it’s a mental thing and that guys are probably just too busy with other things, such as getting their pregame fits right.
