DeMar DeRozan went straight outta Compton to The University of Southern California, then to the Toronto Raptors in 2009.
This shooting guard/ power forward joined the Chicago Bulls in 2021 and is currently one of the veterans on the team. Like many other players in the NBA, D-Roz has several tattoos.

The tattoos on DeRozan’s lower right forearm pay tribute to his late grandmother, Barbara, who he says was his biggest supporter before he even made it to the NBA.
If you look at the second picture closely, you’ll see his mother’s name ‘Diane’ tattooed on his outer wrist, and the words ‘loyalty’, ‘love’, and ‘respect’ on his hand.
His entire left sleeve features montages of his life and his hometown of Compton in particular.

Frank, unfortunately, passed away in 2021, and DeMar honored him in this way. This is a great tribute to the man that DeMar says motivated him to be successful and taught him how to be a man.
