KTLA out of Los Angeles is reporting the helicopter crash happened on a hillside in the Calabasas area.
There were no survivors in the crash, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
TMZ reports Bryant has used a helicopter to travel for years, dating back to when he played for the Lakers.
The 41-year-old athlete was one of five occupants who did not survive in the crash.
